Mrs.Chandrika Shenoi
began by emphasising that to remember what you study, it is essential
that the environment you study is right. Giving example, she said, there should
be NO Television, Radio and other such distractions when you are studying.
She also encouraged students to indulge in Group Study with
similar minded students and not those who are inclined to while away their time
and yours also in the process.
She stressed on the need to visualise things you already
know and connect the same with the subject you are studying so that remembering
becomes easy.
She said “SLEEP” is also very essential and there is no need
to sacrifice sleep in order to improver your memory.
She also suggested students to avoid studying similar subjects simultaneously.
Mrs.Chandrika then encouraged students and also the parents
who were present to ensure Healthy Eating for Better Memory. She said that
eating regularly thoughout the day in small quantities and drinking plenty of
water is better than eating one big meal and becoming lazy, sleepy.
Mrs.Chandrika also cautioned against excess caffeine (which many students
are guilty of) and eating snacks.
She also said that regular exercise and deep breathing
regularly would also improve concentration and in turn your capacity to
remember what you have studied.
She ended her presentation amid deep satisfaction by
students and parents alike.
Mrs.Chandrika Shenoi was then thanked profusely for her
precise time by the Swakula Chetana team and presented with a Shawl of hounour
by Sheela Prakash Sarode.
Overall, the flow of program and the response by students
was refreshing.
Mrs.Chandrika Shenoi later emailed to Srikanth Shankar
Matrubai “Thank you
for the opportunity , it was very nice of you to provide me to interact
with the next generation.
Please
let me know if there was any feedback or any aspects which the students wanted
to clarify.
Few of
the students have taken my mobile number- in case they want to clarify
questions.”
